Bonita Porch

PIEDMONT, CA ~
Structured Landscape

The scope of this garden project was to remove a rotten wooden deck which served as the functioning front door for the house. The clients wanted a more gracious entry that felt more integrated with its garden.

The solution was to build a porch that had a stepped wall to the grade allowing the railing to not be restricted by code safety. The railing, at only 2 feet high, could be easily looked over when relaxing outside on the bult in bench.

This simple solution won an award for Design Excellence from the City of Piedmont

Completed 1997.
