MARIN COUNTY RANCH

Nestled in the pastoral setting of Marin County, Lake Nicasio is framed by gently rolling green hills and grazing longhorn cattle, with little evidence of human habitation. The design guidelines for this home required that it be discreetly integrated into the landscape, hidden from public view.

Positioned to capture sweeping views of the lake, its abundant wildlife, and the dramatic surrounding terrain, the home embraces its natural context. Though modest in actual floor area, the house is generous in scale, designed primarily as a weekend retreat. Expansive outdoor terraces and a separate guest house provide flexibility for hosting larger gatherings.
